Rinko Kawauchi - Illuminance
Rinko Kawauchi takes photos that focus on life, death, color and light. She captures people doing everyday tasks. Some photos are of dead animals. Some are of shapes of light and color. I noticed, after a closer look, that she is very particular about which photos she places together. Rinko marries two unrelated photos together using elements of color, shape, or light. For example, she brings together a photo of a spiderweb shaped net with a photo of someone's not fully opened umbrella using their similar shape and center focal point.
